9:00 - 9:15: Drop off and registration
Children are welcomed by staff and expected to self register by placing their photograph on the blue board.
9:15 - 9:30: Circle time
This is the first session of the day and an opportunity for children to announce any good news or discuss what on their mind.
9:30 - 10:30: Planned activities and child initiated play
Activities are planned specifically for the particular needs of each child following last weeks observations. Child initiated play involves exploring freely.
10:30 - 11:15: Snack Time
The snack bar is open between these times and children are expected to come at their own pace.
11:15 - 11:30: Story time
This is a time when all children curl up in the book corner and indulge in award winning and carefully chosen story books.
11:30 - 11:55: Singing Nursery Rhymes
The children get on their feet and enjoy singing and dancing to their favourite rhymes. Each child is given the chance to perform their favourite Rhymes.
11:55 - 12:10: Good bye everyone
This is the end of the session, children are encouraged to prepare for home time independently. Parents receive a brief update about their child.
The Garden
The children in the nursery have access to the outdoor garden throughout the day. We have a wide variety of outdoor resources to develop their physical skills and wellbeing, its important for the children to stay active and get fresh air.
It's very important that the parents provide suitable clothing for each season as the children go outdoors into the garden every day.
Children at Diamonds preschool indulge in a balanced routine of free choice and structured activities, which are particularly arranged to support their physical, personal, social, emotional and educational development. All Staff dedicate themselves to the individual needs and interests of the children and in accordance to the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
